Panasonic HDC-SDT750K review -- The Panasonic 3D camcorder
The Panasonic HDC-SDT750K 3D camcorder
The Panasonic HDC-SDT750K is simply the world's first consumer 3D camcorder, with ease of use put forward. The HDC-SDT750K is a camcorder with a 7.59MP 3MOS sensor (3x 2.53 million pixels), a Crystal Engine Pro processor, a new generation Hybrid Power OIS (Optical Image Stabilizer), a Leica Dicomar lens equivalent to a 35mm wide angle (F1.5 aperture) and a 3 inches screen (230,000 pixels).
But where the Panasonic stands out is that it is capable of shooting both 2D Full-HD AVCHD format (1920 x 1080 a priori in 50p) and 3D movies with the Side-by-side method (using the 3D conversion lens supplied). Left- and right-eye images are simultaneously shot with two lenses. The right and left images (each with a 960 x 1080 pixels definition) that enter through the lenses are recorded on a single 3MOS CCD sensor, and connecting the SDT750 to a TV that is capable of side-by-side method 3D playback, 3D images can be viewed at home.
The 3D videos can be viewed on a 3D screen (such as the Panasonic VT20 plasmas, that are 3D compatible) or with a Blu-Ray 3D player/recorder via HDMI or a mini SD card.
A Time Lapse Recording function is present, allowing the user to record (in 2D or 3D) at intervals of one second, 10 seconds, 30 seconds, one minute, or two minutes.
The Panasonic HDC-SDT750K captures sound in 5.1 surround with five built-in microphones to record multi-directional sound, and has a Focus microphone feature which lets the user pick up more concentrated sound.
The Panasonic HDC-SDT750K will be available in late September at a suggested retail price of $1400.
